  1. In Come Full Circle, Lindsay goes on a quest to find her mother. It’s the very definition of adventure: an exciting or unexpected event or course of events. Have you experienced anything like this, where something unexpected happens / comes to light? How did that impact your life?

  2. This is a book in part about the wonderful dynamics and love between brothers and sisters. What interludes did you most enjoy?

  3. What were the signature moments for you in this novel? Did this book make you cry? If so, in what parts and why?

  4. In part, THE ICEBERG TRILOGY has been my love letter to Canada – what parts of the country did you enjoy most and why?

  5. In book 2, Wyatt’s huskies were pivotal to Morton’s healing. In Book 3, it is the sea eagles that light something in Ryan’s soul. Have you had any personal experiences with animals being a catalyst for emotional healing, personal growth or your life’s calling?

  6. Throughout Come What May and Come Full Circle, Gene / Eva suffered from a mix of mental health issues and misguided and superstitious thinking. In the latter part of Book 3, Eva experiences a mental fugue that scrambles her mind and creates gaps in her memory. To portray her state of mind the Hejira and Reframing sections present two views of the time period August 1997 – May 2001? How did you find this technique?

  7. Eva hides from Ryan the truth of his heritage and the fact that he has sisters. Was she justified in doing this? If you had been Eva, could you have given your child to your best friend?

  8. Two mother and son relationships are woven throughout Come Full Circle: that of Rebecca and Jonathan and Eva and Ryan. How are they alike and how are they different?

  9. In Come Full Circle, Rebecca becomes a centenarian. Did she become the person you thought she might become?

  10. During her 100th birthday celebration Rebecca says: ‘And what else have I learned of life from the sage old age of one hundred. That it’s still mysterious, mostly it is joyful and abundant, sadness fades, attitude is everything, as is forgiveness.” Discuss.

  11. And finally, the Come Full Circle Questions for Book Clubs would not be complete without asking…
How did you find these three Canadian novels as a trilogy? Did they come full circle for you?

A beautiful, heartwrenching conclusion to this wonderful trilogy. You’ll laugh, weep and want to book the first flight to British Columbia after reading this rich and wonderful story. It’s a deeply satisfying end to the trilogy.
